Stacked Bricks
Traditionally called either Stacked Bricks or Flying Geese, this Quilt is made of ‘bricks’ that are ‘stacked’ in herringbone columns separated by solid columns of sashing. This modern interpretation of a traditional design combines ten coordinated batik cottons of indigo blue with a contrasting background batik print of sunflower gold.
The rectangular quilting designs in the gold border mirror the rectangular shape of the pieced bricks in the quilt center. The result is bright, crisp, and unified.
